答：這個flat是副詞（adverb），指「正好（exactly）」，用在說一段時間的片語（phrase）之後，一般是強調做某事只須用所述的時間，例如：It was a very complicated mathematical problem, but he solved it in 63 seconds flat / in nothing flat（那是個十分複雜的數學問題，但他用了僅僅六十三秒鐘/但他不消片刻，就解答了）。留意in nothing flat即in no time或「馬上」、「不消片刻」。

Give or take是「大約」或more or less的意思，用在說數量的片語之後，那give指「或稍多」，take指「或略少」；假如要說「多不會超過某數目，少也不會超過某數目」，可在give or take之後說明，例如：
