問：「如無意外」英文怎麼說？

答：英文有barring這個介系詞（preposition），意思是「除非（有某些事）」，例如：

（1）Barring unforeseen delays, we can move into the house in December（除非有始料不及的延誤，否則我們十二月可以搬進這棟房子居住）。

（2）Barring rain, we leave tomorrow morning（除非下雨，否則我們明天上午離去）。

「如無意外」當然就是barring accidents，例如：We shall be in London this evening, barring accidents（如無意外，我們今晚會到達倫敦）。

問：He does not feel comfortable wearing school uniforms（他穿校服，會感到不自在）、It is easy to spot trespassers on campuses（擅入校園者，不難認出來）這兩句，可不可改為He does not feel comfortable in/by wearing school uniform以及Trespassers on campuses are easy to spot？

答：第一句不可以加by或in，正如I was/felt happy sitting next to her（我坐在她身旁，十分高興）一語，happy之後也不可加in或by。這是慣用法。讀者示下那一句，假如要加介系詞，可用about，但那絕對不必要。

It is easy to spot trespassers改為Trespassers are easy to spot，則是可以的，意思也沒有分別。謹再舉一例：It is easy to get on with him/ He is easy to get on with（他這個人，很容易相處）。
