答：The world over是成語，也作the whole world over：那over是副詞（adverb），指「全部（地方）」，例如：

（1）This game is played the world over（這遊戲，世界各地都有人玩）。

（2）The sky clouded over（天上陰雲滿布）。

The world over也可寫作all over the world：這個over則是介系詞（preposition），常和all連用，all over即「全部（地方）」，例如：

（1）The game is played all over the world。

（2）There are tall buildings all over Hong Kong（香港處處都有大廈高樓）。All over the world改為all round / around the world也可以。

讀者示下那一句，the world over改為all over the world是可以的，但不宜略去all字。
