問：Advise（提議、勸告）、help（幫助）這兩個字之後，應用ing動詞還是「to +原形動詞（infinitive）」？

答：Advise之後，假如不說提議或勸告的對象，那就可用名詞或ing動詞；假如說明提議或勸告的對象，則可用「to +原形動詞」，例如：

（1）The doctor advised a long rest / advised taking a long rest（醫生說，應該長時間休息）。

（2）The doctor advised me to take a long rest（醫生說，我應該長時間休息）。

Help（幫助）之後，應用「to +原形動詞」，而那to字往往略去；can't help（忍不住、控制不住）之後，則應用ing動詞，例如：

（1）I helped him（to） do the exercise（我幫他做作業）。

（2）He couldn't help losing his temper when he did not get what he wanted（他得不到想要的東西，忍不住發脾氣）。

問：以下一句，哪個選擇正確？──I got the information from / on / off the Internet（我從互聯網取得這資料）。

答：Internet一般和介系詞on連用，例如：There is on the Internet a wealth of information about the university（互聯網上，很多這家大學的資料）。讀者示下那一句，用on也可以，不過，由於句子動詞是get，而「從……取得」英文是to get... from，所以這一句用from勝於on。又隨便的口頭英語往往用off取代from，所以用off也無不可。
